While we move towards opening our new hospice building at Hairmyres Hospital, we currently operate a Day Hospice Drop-in Centre within the Red Deer Centre, Alberta Avenue in East Kilbride.

The centre is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm and provides a welcoming environment for patients and families affected by cancer and other life limiting illness. In this friendly centre, our staff provide a mix of clinical, emotional and social support. The day hospice is also supported by a dedicated team of volunteers who are always there to give a warm welcome and a cup of tea or coffee.

The centre has an inhouse complementary therapist, with appointments available for a range of treatments including aromatherapy, Indian head massage, reiki and reflexology.

Other activities include a Monday walking group, a craft class between 11am and 3pm on a Tuesday, Tai-Chi on a Wednesday, Armchair aerobics on a Thursday followed by a relaxation class, along with other scheduled groups including stress management and a lymphoedema support group.
