Gift Aid explained

Every gift you make to Kilbryde Hospice - whatever its value – could be worth 25% more at no extra cost to you just by choosing to Gift Aid it. HM Revenue & Customs will add an extra 25p to every £1 you give to Kilbryde Hospice.
Gift Aid is simple. As soon as you give your permission by completing a Gift Aid Declaration, Kilbryde Hospice can claim the tax back on your donation. This means that a £10.00 donation will be worth £12.50 and a £50.00 donation will actually be worth £62.50. Giving under Gift Aid means that so much more money can be raised with relatively little effort.

It doesn’t matter whether you make a one-off donation or set up a regular monthly donation Kilbryde Hospice can claim the tax back on any amount that has been made to us in the last four years. A single Gift Aid Declaration will cover all future donations you make to Kilbryde Hospice.

Gift Aid applies only to ‘gifts.’ We can claim Gift Aid on all eligible individual and sponsorship donations that are made to Kilbryde Hospice but we can’t claim Gift Aid on activities where people have been charged an entry fee, entered a competition or where the donor can’t be traced (such as giving to a can collection).

In order to be eligible for Gift Aid you must be a UK tax payer. Even if you are not employed, you are still eligible if you are paying tax on any of the following:
  • Personal or occupational pension
  • Stocks and shares
  • Bank and Building Society savings accounts
  • Rental income
  • Overseas and UK investment dividends
