Stuart Glen, former Director of Fundraising with animal charity OneKind, took up the role of Fundraising Manager with Kilbryde Hospice on Monday 11 July.
Stuart has more than 10 years experience in fundraising, having previously worked as Membership Development Manager and Membership and Marketing Manager with Scottish Wildlife Trust. A well-respected fundraiser, he is Chair of the Institute of Fundraising (Scotland) Professional Development Committee and a member of the Institute of Fundraising (Scotland) Executive Committee.
Stuart said "These are thrilling times for Kilbryde Hospice. The new Kilbryde Hospice is fast becoming a reality with building works due to begin later in the year. It is exciting to be part of something so obviously deep-rooted in the local community."
He added "I’ve already spent a wonderful afternoon at the hospice’s Drop-in Centre. What a fantastic service! The staff, volunteers and patients were welcoming and friendly, and the relaxed, informal atmosphere really made me feel comfortable and at ease. I realise now, more than ever before, that the vital services offered by the staff and volunteers of Kilbryde Hospice need to be housed in their own purpose-built facility. I am looking forward to playing my part in making this happen."
Donna Hegarty, Business Development Manager for the hospice, added, “We are delighted to have Stuart join our team. We look forward to introducing more ways for local residents and businesses to get involved as we increase our volunteering and fundraising activities as we move closer to starting the build of our new hospice.”
