Volunteers play a vital role for charities and an open evening on Thursday 15th September between 4PM and 7PM will allow Kilbryde Hospice to highlight the range of opportunities they currently have for volunteers to get involved with the charity. With a number of volunteers starting back college and university, Kilbryde Hospice shops in the town centre are currently seeking a number of volunteers to assist within the shops, as well as the potential to assist with the collection and delivery service they provide for donations.
Donna Hegarty, Business Development Manager at the charity advised, ‘Volunteers play an important role for charities and this open evening is the start of a number of events we will be running throughout South Lanarkshire to attract more volunteers to help us deliver the services that will help fund our new hospice in the grounds to the rear of Hairmyres Hospital.’
Donna added, ‘As we move towards starting the build of our new hospice in the New Year, our need for volunteers to assist in a number of areas increases. So if you have a few hours to spare we would love your help in our shops or to assist with driving, administration, charity can collections, events, supporting our existing drop-in centre and much more! Come along to our open evening and find out more about the full range of opportunities available.’
The Kilbryde Hospice volunteer open evening will be held in their main shop within the East Kilbride Shopping Centre, at Southgate. Refreshments will be available and the informal event will allow potential volunteers to speak one to one to existing staff and volunteers about the range of volunteer opportunities available and find out what is involved with each post. Volunteers can choose to help from a few hours per month, to some that volunteer several days per week.
