Kilbryde Hospice fundraising efforts are that bit healthier thanks to a generous £4,500 donation from ISS Facilities Services. Over the past 12 months ISS staff raised the money through a variety of activities, most notably through sales and raffles of holiday hampers. The cheque for £4,500 was presented to Kilbryde Hospice representatives – Dennis Gallagher (Chairman), Gordon McHugh (Vice-Chairman) and Donna Hegarty (Business Development Manager) by ISS Facilities Healthcare General Manager, Margaret Maule.

Dennis Gallagher said, “I’d like to thank all the staff at ISS for this tremendous donation towards making South Lanarkshire’s first in-patient hospice a reality. We aim to be in a position to share plans of the hospice within the next few weeks and announce a date when construction will begin.”

Donna Hegarty, Business Development Manager also commented, “Everyone at Kilbryde Hospice is immensely grateful to ISS for their on-going support of the hospice. 2012 is set to be a momentous year for Kilbryde Hospice with building due to begin in a matter of months. It would not have been possible without the support of thousands of local supporters. Loyal supporters like ISS Facilities Services.” Hegarty then added, “But your support is needed now more than ever. With an estimated build cost of £3 million, supporters’ donations really are funding bricks and mortar right now. “

There was more good news for Kilbryde Hospice as the assembled representatives announced that Kilbryde Hospice was once again selected to be one of ISS Facilities Services Charities of the Year for 2012 (along with the British Heart Foundation and Kidney Research). Margaret Maule of ISS Facilities Services stated, “Our staff are pleased to support Kilbryde Hospice again in 2012. The need for a modern, purpose-built hospice is long overdue and it is fantastic to see the plans and schedule taking shape. I hope ISS Facilities Services will be able to donate even more next year.”
